At Muletopia we use natural hormanship to achieve versatile, dependable and gentle Horses and Mules with outstanding performance  Keith Garoutte, an Oregon native has spend all of his life in Eastern Oregon. He grew up in a very remote area of Grant County where he was very early introduced to horses, fishing, hunting and trail riding.Today he prefers mules to horses. Mules according to him, have proven that they are more reliable, sure footed in the mountains, and stay calm and collected where many horses would show nervousness and the inability to control their natural flight of fight behavior. Keith still goes hunting and packing every year here in Wallowa County and beyond. He prefers to include lots of trail rides for any mule at any level of experience to assure a well balanced character and sure footedness no matter what ciurcumstances the mule may encounter.
